👋 Welcome to
She's Got Lasers
She’s Got Lasers was born out of one big question:
Why does so much learning happen on screens—when kids learn best by doing?
As a mechanical engineer (and parent), I wanted to create something different:
✨ Projects that feel like play
🔧 Builds that teach real-world skills
⚙️ Gadgets that move, function, and spark curiosity
Our kits combine creativity, mechanics, and hands-on making—no tablets, apps, or batteries required. Just thoughtful design, a few simple tools, and that magical “I made this!” moment.
Whether you’re a parent looking for a meaningful screen-free activity, friends and family looking for an awesome gift for someone, or a teacher wanting to bring engineering to classroom—welcome to your new favourite build-it-yourself kits.
🧪 Wait… What’s STEM?
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths—but around here, it’s a lot more than textbooks and test scores.
At She’s Got Lasers, STEM looks like:
✋ Getting hands-on with real parts and clever mechanisms
🔧 Building things that actually work—not just look cool
💡 Learning through doing (and maybe a few mistakes along the way)
STEM teaches kids how to think creatively, solve problems, and understand how the world fits together.
Our kits sneak those skills into a fun, screen-free project—so kids feel like they’re playing, while quietly learning to think like inventors.
🎯 Our Mission
At She’s Got Lasers, our mission is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and celebrate creativity — one laser zap at a time.
We believe that learning should be hands-on, a little messy, and a whole lot of fun. That’s why we create Creative STEM Kits that empower kids and teens to explore science, technology, engineering, and design through making.
We’re here for the tinkerers, the overthinkers, the neurospicy brains, and the future inventors who’d rather build it than read about it. Our kits are designed to be inclusive, purposeful, and proudly NZ-made — built by real engineers who believe in learning by doing.
Whether you're a teacher, parent, or curious kid, our mission is simple:Make STEM accessible, exciting, and totally zappable.

👩🔧 Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Alicia — founder of She’s Got Lasers, mechanical engineer, robotics geek, and serial creator of stuff.
I’ve spent years designing prototypes, building devices, working in engineering labs, and running hands-on STEM workshops. But my real passion? Helping kids and teens fall in love with learning through doing.
As a neurodiverse female in engineering, I know how hard it can be to find your place in a world that doesn’t always reward curiosity or chaos. So I built a company that does. I want to empower the next generation of tinkerers, thinkers, and laser-loving legends to take up space, grab a tool, and start making stuff happen.

🌞Zappity Doo Dah🌞
Every Zapp Kit we create is cut by our trusty 40W laser cutter — affectionately named Zappity Doo Dah (Zappy).
That's right! She has a name! 😏
She’s fast, precise, and a little bit dramatic (she loves a smoky entrance), and LOTS of sass. Together, we bring your kits to life with clean cuts, crisp details, and zero plastic fluff.
Zappity isn’t just a machine. She’s part of the team — and the reason our Creative STEM Kits are so unique.

💡What Makes Us Different
✅ Proudly NZ-Made — Designed, cut, and packed in Aotearoa
✅ STEM with Sass — Educational, but never boring
✅ Neurodiverse-Friendly — Created by someone who gets it
✅ Eco-Conscious — We avoid plastic wherever possible and design for minimal waste
✅ Designed by an Engineer — No gimmicks, just hands-on learning that works
What's next? ⏭️
We’re building even more ways for you to learn and zap. From new kits and tool ranges (Zapprentice Kits, anyone?) to downloadable activities and learning support (Mission: Zapp Possible!), we’re not slowing down anytime soon.
Workshops, events, and classroom packs (ZappED Kits) are also on the horizon — stay tuned, or sign up to be the first to know.

Zapp Movement!🙌🏻
Whether you’re a parent, teacher, maker, or curious kid — welcome. You’ve found your people.
Let’s build something zappy together.
